These frameworks outline the knowledge and skills required for Healthcare Support Workers, Nurses, Midwives and Allied Health Professions (NMAHPs) working in specific healthcare settings.
The NMAHP Development Framework provides the generic knowledge and skills for every level of practice for Nurses, Midwives, Allied Health Professions and Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland. The supporting and specialist frameworks offer additional details within specific contexts.
For example, the Hospital at Home Knowledge and Skills Development Framework can be used independently, as it tailors the generic aspects of the NMAHP Development Framework to a particular setting.
We have developed this guidance to demonstrate how the Framework can be used alongside other frameworks.
