Welcome to the Supporting and Specialist Frameworks section.

Supporting and specialist frameworks define knowledge and skills for Healthcare Support Workers Nurses Midwives and Allied Health Professions (NMAHPs) working in specific healthcare environments.

These frameworks share the structure of the overarching NMAHP Development Framework.The NMAHP Development Framework is generic to all nurses, midwives, allied health professions and healthcare support workers, whilst the supporting and specialist frameworks add detail within a specific context.

For example, the Hospital at Home Knowledge and Skills Development Framework can be used on its own as it has been designed to contextualise the generic aspects of the NMAHP development framework.
